They both said that the drawing superceded the spec requirements, and as shop had installed the drawing called out (parts), there was no discrepancy. I listened incredulously, wondering what depths our corruption and incompetence had now sunken to. I defended what I knew to be the truth, that both the spec and the drawing had to be complied with, and the drawing only trumped the spec when the two conflicted, which was not the case in this instance—the installation could be made per both drawing and spec requirements...
