An additional quote from the "letter never sent" (except to the OIG):
This really angers me. I am about as non-violent as a heterosexual male addled by testosterone can be, but if I was in your position and I had just read this I just might "invite myself" to BCAG Headquarters, "burst" through the ceiling high mahogany doors into BCAG’s Taj Mahal main office at Longacres at my appointed meeting time, rudely ignoring and pushing past the gang of the usual BCAG Senior Management folk just behind those doors just waiting to greet me with the usual tired "Good Afternoon Mr. Eastman, can we implement self-inspection in Final Assembly today?—Look at these (bogus) charts--our CORRS numbers are now at the level we promised before implementation," then making a quick beeline toward the solid mahogany paneled opposite wall where various important BCAG documents are framed and hanging, grabbing BCAG’s most cherished and most violated framed document from the wall, ripping it from the frame, racing with it toward the adjacent open window, then grabbing a lighter out of my pocket, and with use of that lighter "revoking it"—revoking the Production Certificate "my" agency, the FAA, had granted BCAG, then letting it go--to flutter away in the wind to the parking lot below while the flames it is engulfed in turn it to ashes while it flies, just as so many unknown numbers of airplanes will do due to the rampant violation of it that made its revocation into those ashes inevitable.
Would I do such a thing if I was in your position?—Of course not. Yes, I would still revoke BCAG’s PC for the above and myriad other reasons I know of that make that action urgently necessary--but I would do it through the formal legal process, and not the above theatrical manner. But one can always fantasize of such a grandiose way to perform the same act in a more direct manner that therefore may show BCAG more physically how perturbed the TAD (if I was running it) was with their soiling of that PC for "value" that made that revocation necessary—those fantasies just cannot be acted upon by responsible people.
