This quote is also from my addendum (supplement) to my first report, and refers to a requirement in the Boeing QA Manual:
Attempts to water down or cancel the shakedown inspection:
See Exhibit F for what, I believe, a shakedown process, and our Shakedown QOI, should be. Compare it to whatever my QA Supervisor Tom Nakamichi submits to you to try and neuter the process. See which one makes more sense to you. Then ask yourself, "What are (my QA supervisor's) motivations in submitting this QOI?" To increase the quality of the product? Or, as (a fellow line inspector) said, "To push more garbage out the door," quicker. I believe, by now, you know my motivations well enough. I wrote my QOI as it is because I still believe in QA’s essential role in the production of aerospace products. The lure of a larger Sharevalue payout has not corrupted the way I do my job, as it has others.
